Monday Prep and Plan for Healthy Living + Memphis Recap
I believe prepping and planning for healthy living is a huge component in making it part of your daily life. Taking a day each week to food prep will save time and money, and having a plan for healthy living will help make your goals attainable. Every Monday I will feature how I food prep each weekend before the work week, as well as my plan for healthy living for the week. You guys, this past weekend was amazing. We were in Memphis for a wedding, two of our best friends got married! It was so fantastic to spend time with our close friends from college and I am already looking forward to them coming to visit us for the fourth of July!
Now onto the prep and plan for the next week...
Food prep this week was minor since we got home late in the afternoon on Sunday. I didn't snap a picture but I made Nick some oatmeal, made a smoothie bag for myself, and roasted a sweet potato. I also already have some energy bites, cherry jam and paleo and vegan fudge in the freezer, too!
Meal Plan for this week:
The recipe I am making for Tuesday is based off Avocado A Day Nutrition's recipe for Greek beef tacos with kale and creamy feta sauce. Friday and Saturday's dinner plans plus the protein pancake bake are all recipes I am posting on the blog soon! This is the recipe for the smoothie bowl.
Exercise plan for the week:
Monday- Gym before work (deadlifts/back/biceps) and hot cardio flow yoga
Wednesday- Gym before work (leg day)
Thursday- Hot barre
Friday- Gym before work (shoulder/chest/triceps)
Saturday- BUTI yoga
Sunday- Active rest (long walk with Porter)
I didn't end up working out from Thursday to Sunday of this past week, so I am looking forward to getting back in the gym and doing lots of yoga! I feel my best when I move my body everyday, and I especially love how it helps my digestion and sleep (both things I struggle with). I am heading to the gym right after posting this, so excited to get back at it!
Sleep and mental health plan for the week:
You guys, my sleep has been so much better lately! My sleep cycle app is rating the quality of my sleep at 80-100%, where I usually get 50-70%. I think this might be because I am drinking less fluids before bedtime and my meditation is helping, too! I tend to get enough hours of sleep, but really struggle to get good quality sleep, so this makes me so happy. I can honestly tell a difference too, I feel so much better and my brain works so much better ;)
Meditation goals are the same, continue daily silence in the morning and end the night when Kat's new guided meditation for sleep. You can find more Kat on her Bringing Balance Back series here on the blog or at her website.
